Aviation Law in UAE

The Civil Aviation Law applies to all or any aircraft registered within the UAE, traffic control, communications, and civil airports, whereas the Aviation Authority Law has established the overall Civil Aviation Authority (the GCAA). The GCAA is that the regulatory agency which is designated to make sure proper compliance with the Civil Aviation Law within the UAE, whilst emphasizing the concept of security and safety. Having exclusive authority over the aviation industry within the UAE, the GCAA is liable for en-route air navigation services and every one aspects of air safety.

Hence, each Emirate has its own aviation authority which governs all matters associated with aviation in its respective Emirate, like the Dubai Aviation Authority established under Law Number 21 of 2007, Department of Civil Aviation of Ras Al Khaimah, Department of Abu Dhabi Civil Aviation, Department of Civil Aviation Fujairah, Department of Civil Aviation Sharjah.
